I’m happy to welcome you to this search site and first I’ll explain why this is a great place to start and why it’s not perfect.
The simple fact is that as a home buyer, the first thing that you’ll be looking for is a neighborhood that you find attractive and that may hold some other important benefits for you. For example: let’s say your avid passion is mountain biking. You want a home that allows you to leave your driveway and head immediately for the hills. No traffic to worry about, no darting away from drivers who may not be paying too much attention to pedestrians or cyclists.
If you know the neighborhoods of Santa Fe or the immediate area, this won’t pose a problem for you since your search will be in areas
you already have some familiarity. So finding a suitable home in the “wrong” neighborhood isn’t going to work.
That’s still okay, for the homes that you do select will assist me in getting to know a bit about what you’re after. What I really need to know to best help you i some additional information.
In my experience, one of the other drawbacks of simply using any search engine, is that they focus on features, i.e. number of bedrooms, baths, square footage, etc. The problem here is that what I need to know as your Realtor, is how you value a particular feature as being beneficial to you. After all, the psychologists tell us that there are about a dozen benefits that are associated with a home and if a property doesn’t fulfill the benefits that you’re seeking, then it isn’t going to work. The benefits are: Privacy, Comfort, Convenience, Prestige, Safety, Security, Health, Recreation, Entertainment, Value, Economy and Aesthetics.
